ABOUT THE BIBLE ACADEMY
The Bible Academy is part of the church’s teaching and training programs. We believe that having a close relationship with God and knowing God’s word goes hand-in-hand.
The Bible Academy offers three different programmes; Tree of Life, Baptist Theological College and Bible Classes to help you deepen your knowledge and understanding of the Bible.
TREE OF LIFE
Tree of Life is our fully accredited Higher Certificate Course. This course follows the NBI (Nehemia Bible Institute) curriculum. The heart behind Tree of Life is our local pastors and leaders who may not have the means or time to acquire extensive tertiary Bible Training.
We encourage all who want to deepen their knowledge and understanding of the Bible to take this course.
This course may also serve as a bridging course for those who do not have their matric and may want to study further.
ABOUT TREE OF LIFE
SOME SPECIFICS:
- Lectures are at the church, every Monday evening at 17:30 - 18:30pm
- There are two courses available and 15 modules in each course
- It costs R180 per module.

HOW TO APPLY:
The Bible Academy works as a hub for students studying theology. Jonathan Fraser, the Co-ordinator of the BA, has experience working with students from different colleges and aims to help theological students work effectively through their studies.
The BA has built a relationship with the Baptist Theological College of Southern Africa (BTCSA) and recommends BTC as a quality institution. The BA aims to set up consultation and lecture schedules for students wanting to study so that they can work through the curriculum. Furthermore, we encourage that those studying with us are involved, or seek to get involved, in some way in ministry.
BTC is also an accredited theological institution of higher education which seeks to equip believers for ministry and welcomes those who feel a call to Christian ministry from churches across multiple denominations.
BA isn’t strictly a satellite institute of BTC but we act as a Theological Hub for students, helping them with the admin and learning involved in these studies.

Every Sunday morning at 8am, before our main church service
Our Sunday morning Bible classes are completely free and open to all. All you have to do is bring yourself and a pen!

BIBLE ACADEMY CO-ORDINATOR
JONATHAN FRASER is our Bible Academy Co-ordinator here at Norwegian Settlers Church. Originally from Johannesburg, Jonathan has a Masters Degree in missiology. He previously worked at the Baptist Theological College in Gauteng, then served as a Bible School Coordinator/Principal at Crusade for Christ before finding his way to NSC.
Jonathan has lectured for multiple theological institutions and teaches at the Bible Classes on the Sunday mornings, along with Pastor Johnny and Vuyo Maboetie; Tree of Life is taught by a gifted pastor and lecturer, Linda Zikalala.
